Vintage Silver Metal Covered Glass Butter Dish

Vintage rectangular clear glass butter dish featuring a scalloped edge and a silver-plated dome lid with an etched design. The set consists of a transparent glass base with a bottom, sunburst pattern, and an embossed metal dome cover, commonly referred to as chrome or silver-plated. It is designed to hold a standard quarter-pound stick of butter. This butter dish is most likely from the Mid-20th Century, specifically between the 1930s and 1950s. Mixed-material utility tableware—combining a clear, thick pressed-glass base with a stylized chrome, aluminum, or silver-plated dome lid—saw a massive surge in popularity during this Americana era. Measurements and all sides shown in photos. In excellent condition. Smoke free home.
