Freshly picked cherries, ready to eat.
Perfect for celebrations! In Yamagata, when something auspicious occurs,
Takasago cherries are sometimes given as gifts.

These rare, heart-shaped cherries are not commonly found in markets! While locals often use them for processing,
they are also sweet, tart, and delicious when eaten fresh! And so cute!

Takasago, one of Japan's oldest cherry varieties, typically weighs around 6g per fruit and doesn't grow very large. The seed is slightly large relative to the flesh, which is cream-colored and soft. While the quality is good, the soft flesh means they have a shorter shelf life.

The sugar content is 16-18%, which is slightly lower than the average for cherries. However, they have the same level of acidity as other cherries, making them refreshingly tart and never tiresome to eat, no matter how many you consume. Some people prefer these over the sweeter Sato Nishiki.

Takasago cherries are in season around mid-June, harvested slightly earlier than Sato Nishiki. Though often overshadowed by Sato Nishiki, these charming heart-shaped cherries, named Takasago which signifies good fortune, have many fans who use them as gifts.

To ensure you can enjoy them at their best,
we will ship orders sequentially as they are received.
Shipping is scheduled to begin in early June.
How about a Father's Day gift?
