Panasonic TR-005 Space Age Mid-Century Black and White TV

This listing is for a vintage black and white CRT television from the early 1970s, a familiar item for Space Age enthusiasts. It was released in Japan as the National TR-603A and in the United States as the Panasonic TR-005. This particular unit is the American specification model.

As usual, I will list some special notes:

① Purchased in the early 2000s during my stay in the US and brought back to Japan in 2013.
② First, defect 1:
・ As shown in image 2, there is a crack on the bezel on the right side.
Defect 2:
・ The antenna is complete down to the tip, but it is slightly bent. It is stiff but extends properly. However, as shown in image 15, the tip of the antenna on the right side of the main unit can come off. Please be careful, as pushing it in to shorten it will make it impossible to extend. I had a lot of trouble pulling it out in the US once, and a second time when I forgot about this when preparing this listing.
③ Next, good point 1:
・ Although there are some scratches and dirt due to age, I believe it is in beautiful condition. Power has been confirmed.
Good point 2:
・ Image 12: V/Low tuning light (green) OK, left side of the screen.
・ Image 13: V/High tuning light (green) not lit, left side of the screen.
・ Image 14: UHF tuning light (green) OK, left side of the screen.
Good point 3:
・ Tuning, volume, and brightness dial operations have been confirmed. The contrast, V Hold, and H Hold dials are also likely working.
Good point 4:
・ The volume can be adjusted, and the speaker works, so you can hear static. Furthermore, while testing the operation, I was tuning and, perhaps by chance, received music!! I don't know what song it was or which station I picked up, but I even had the illusion that music from 50 years ago was flowing through time!
⑤ Approximate dimensions: H: 250mm, W: 320mm, D: 250mm (mm)

I am not an expert in vintage electronics, just a collector, so I cannot provide detailed information. I have tried to describe everything I can confirm, including the defects, but please make your final purchase decision by carefully examining the images and descriptions. Please understand that cancellations after shipping cannot be accepted.

Thank you very much for reading to the end.
