Inheriting this technique for three generations, he has dedicated himself to refining his skills and producing products of exquisite and delicate beauty through wax-mold casting.

The Suga Family
A lineage of artists with a very high reputation in the world of Japanese traditional crafts (metalworking).
They have greatly contributed to the development of Takaoka Copperware, a traditional industry in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture.
The prestigious Suga family of metal artists has produced works combining excellent casting technology and artistic sensibility for generations.
Style: Characterized by intricate patterns and designs that convey a sense of delicacy within a substantial feel. They are particularly known for their cast works such as incense burners, vases, and tea ceremony utensils.
Tradition and Innovation: While inheriting classical patterns, many of their works incorporate modern aesthetics suited to the times, earning high praise among collectors.

Takaoka Copperware
The origin dates back to 1611 when Toshinaga Maeda, the second lord of the Kaga domain, invited casters to establish a foundry as an industrial policy to foster prosperity in the castle town upon the construction of Takaoka Castle.
It developed by creating Tokin cast items, primarily focusing on metal carving, for items like vases and Buddhist altars. In the Meiji era, it gained worldwide recognition at exhibitions such as the Paris Exposition Universelle.
In 1975, it was designated as one of Japan's first traditional craft production areas, and efforts are made towards new product development, market development, and human resource training. Products range from tabletop ornaments to bronze statues and large Buddha statues, accounting for over 90% of the national production volume.
