Description
Up for sale is a beautiful, authentic vintage Indonesian Lombok (Sasak) terracotta art pottery vase. This striking piece features an earthy, hand-painted mottled tortoise-shell brown finish that gives it a wonderfully rustic and organic aesthetic. The top collar of the vase is intricately detailed with a traditional hand-woven rattan basketry rim, seamlessly stitched directly into the clay body. The base is completely unglazed, showcasing the raw, native peach-orange terracotta clay and features primitive dark smudges left behind from the traditional open-fire pit baking methods used by the local artisans. It is entirely handcrafted with no modern factory markings.Perfect for bohemian, rustic cabin, southwestern, or wabi-sabi home decor styles.Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No cracks or major chips. The rattan trim is intact and tight. Some minor surface wear and natural firing imperfections consistent with handmade, primitive tribal pottery. Please see all photos for details.
