Vintage MCM African Inspired String Art Mask Wood Copper Wall Plaque 14"

Distinctive vintage Mid-Century Modern decorative wall mask featuring dimensional string-art construction.  The elongated black-painted wood or composite-board plaque is decorated with geometric gold cord patterns, raised copper-tone metal eyes and mouth, a projecting wooden nose and a metal nose ring. The reverse is covered in red felt and includes an attached sawtooth hanger for wall display.  The design has an African-inspired, tribal-style and atomic-era decorative appearance typical of mid-20th-century wall décor. Exact artist, manufacturer, date and country of origin are unknown.
